Barrack Square
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Barrack Square is an open public square on the foreshore of Perth Water on the Swan River, located at the southern end of Barrack Street near the central business district of Perth, Western Australia.
During the early development of Perth the land north of the location was used as a landing area for goods and people (as the current location lies further south), and a gateway for river transportation.[1]
The Swan Bells are located at Barrack Square, as wells as cafés, restaurants and jetties.
Also known as the Barrack Street jetties, a ferry service is provided by Transperth to the Perth Zoo. Commercial companies also use the jetties for trips to Rottnest and river cruises.
