Baron Newton

Baron Newton, of Newton-in-Makerfield in the County of Lancaster, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1892 for William John Legh, a former Conservative Member of Parliament for Lancashire South and Cheshire East. Both his son, the second Baron, and his great-grandson, the fourth Baron, were government ministers.
The seat of the Legh family was Lyme Park near Disley in Cheshire.
