Baron Burghersh

The title of Baron Burghersh has been created twice in the Peerage of England.

It was created by writ for Robert de Burghersh on November 12, 1303. This creation became dormant after his death, passing into the family of Pavely or Paveley.

The title was created again by writ for Bartholomew de Burghersh on January 25, 1330. It descended through the families of le Despencer and Beauchamp, and became abeyant in 1449.

• Stephen de Burghersh, 2nd Baron Burghersh (b. c. 1280-1310)

• Walter Pavely, 4th Baron Burghersh (d. 1375)
• Walter Pavely, 5th Baron Burghersh (testate 1379)

• Elizabeth de Burghersh, 3rd Baroness Burghersh (1342–1409)

Elizabeth's son was attainted in 1400, so the barony became extinct on her death in 1409. The claim of his heirs passed into abeyance in 1449. The attainder was reversed in 1461, but the barony was never called out of abeyance.
