Baron Bomburst is a fictional character and one of the antagonists in the story Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He rules over the land of Vulgaria alongside Baroness Bomburst. His most loyal servant is the Child Catcher, because his wife, the Baronness, despises all children, which is why the townspeople have to hide all of their children, or else the Child Catcher would take them away. Ironically, the Baron is the most childlike character in the story. He loves playing with toys, hence his fascination with Caractacus Potts' invention of a flying car.

In the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he is played by Gert Fröbe. In the 2002 stage musical, the part was originated by Brian Blessed.
