Bargeddie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Located north east of the junction of the M73 and M8 motorways, Bargeddie is a small town of North Lanarkshire. Situated 2 miles (3 km) west of Coatbridge town centre, Bargeddie grew, along with neighbouring Cuilhill and Drumpark in association with the mining of coal. In the late 1940s a major housing estate was created to accommodate an influx of inhabitants from Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Former Scottish football player and Arsenal manager, George Graham was born here.
Bargeddie has two pubs, the roadhouse and the langmuir inn (known as thamson's to locals)
In recent years Bargeddie has began to expand with the addition of the "Drumpellier Lawns" housing development.
