Barbizon

Barbizon is a village and commune of the Seine-et-Marne département, in France, located near the Fontainebleau Forest.. Population (1999): 1,490.

The Barbizon school of painters is named after the village; Rousseau and Millet, leaders of the school, made their homes and died in the village.
