Barabus TKR
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Barabus TKR is a supercar planned for production by Barabus Sportscars Limited. Its V8 twin turbo engine is intended to have 1005 horsepower at 6800 RPM, and the vehicle is claimed to be capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in 1.67 seconds with a top speed of 270 MPH. Many car enthusiasts are skeptical about these figures[1].
Although very little is known about the manufacturer [2], Barabus claims the TKR will be faster than the Bugatti Veyron at about half the price; [3] the Veyron costing £810,000 (US$1,300,000) while the TKR has a suggested retail price of £360,000 (US$670,000)[4]
The TKR was shown in July 2006 at the British International Motor Show. Anthony Keating, head of Barabus Sportscars, stated that several orders had been taken, and that 27 employees in Manchester were working on assembly of the car. [5]
