From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bar None is a chain of bar/nightclubs throught the United States. The original location, Bar None NYC, a dive bar located in New York City, still exists. It has been a popular meeting place for East Village locals and New York University students since 1993. The bar is located at 98 Third Avenue, between East 12th and East 13th Street. The building's previous tenant was The Chase Bar, a live music venue where bands such as Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers played in the early 1990s.
Punk Rock artist GG Allin played his last show at Bar None before dying of a heroin overdose. In the late 1970's the space was home to "The Nursery," a notorious after-hours bar, whose regulars included John Belushi, David Bowie and Mick Jagger.
