Bao Xin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bao Xin (鮑信) (? - 192) was a general of the Han Dynasty in late Eastern Han and Three Kingdoms era in ancient China. Initially he fought against the Yellow Turban rebels and in 190, along with other regional warlords, opposed the traitorous warlord Dong Zhuo. During a battle at the River Si, he disobeyed orders, and instructed his younger brother, Bao Zhong, to engage the enemy commander Hua Xiong, with around 5,000 armored cavalry. However, the raid was a failure, and Zhong was slain. Later he served under Xiahou Dun, one of Cao Cao's highest ranking generals. He was killed in 192 in an assault against one of Yellow Turban rebel's stronghold in Shouyong.
