User:BanyanTree

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello and welcome to my user space!

You can contact me on my talk page. BanyanTree is a bit of a mouthful, so feel free to call me Banyan or BT.

My substantive edits (as opposed to the formatting of random articles I come across) tend to relate to armed conflicts in Africa, specifically small wars in the Great Lakes region. For a more detailed picture, see my contributions page. If you've followed me from an Africa-related article, check out the Africa-related regional notice board for some useful stuff and good people.

My other accounts in sister projects and some foreign language Wikipedias are almost entirely inactive. I periodically use my Commons account for uploads; you may also see my uploaded images with Daniel's tool. I have an underutilized sandbox, which I link here mainly so I don't forget about it, and the same for this. I have specified a personal procedure for admin recall. Whenever I want to be overcome with doubt, I try to figure out when to use {{quote box}} v {{cquote}} v {{Quotation}} v {{rquote}} v <blockquote>.

For some clearheaded thinking on Wikipedia, see Worldtraveller's user page. For why you should care about this user's opinion, see here.

Something I've read recently:

Black girl, black girl, don't lie to me
Where did you stay last night?
I stayed in the pines where the sun never shines
And shivered when the cold wind blows
-"Where Did You Sleep Last Night" lyrics, as compiled by Cecil Sharp in 1917
