The Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam was founded by Dr. S.V. Balasubramaniam in 1996 to equip students with sound technical knowledge and skills. The college lies admist a clean serene atmosphere besides the Bhavani River with the western ghats as the backdrop. The college runs under the leadership of its director Dr. S K Sundararaman and Principal Dr.A. Shanmugam. The college has grown to great heights due to the dedicated efforts of the members of Faculty.
The college fosters an open student friendly culture with nine core branches in engineering in both graduate and postgraduate levels. The young budding engineers from this glorious Institution are well placed in leading MNCs and form a well knit alumni, a pillar of the institution.
It has a number of departments and schools: Computer Applications, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Textile Technology, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
There are also a number of clubs, societies and forums that encompass a host of activities including sports - the Literary and Debating Society, the Nature Club, the Music Club, the Rotaract Club, the NSS, the Fine Arts Club, etc.
