Bank of British North America

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bank of British North America was founded in 1835 in London, England with offices in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, St. John, Halifax and St. John's.

It merged with the Bank of Montreal in 1918. Many Canadian banks disappeared in the 20th Century and by the 1960s, only four major banks continue to operated in Canada.

The Toronto office remains today as a historical structure, but it does not function as a bank.
