"Bango Was His Name Oh!" is an episode from season 4 of FOX animated television series Family Guy, consisting mostly of the second third of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.

[edit] Plot summary

The Griffins get TiVo and Stewie sees a man on TV whom he believes to be his real biological father. Brian and Stewie tag along with Quagmire to go to California. Stewie chases the gentleman to a streetcar and learns he is not Stewie's father but himself, years from now in the future, who is on holiday and visiting their time.

[edit] TV Edits/Alterations

The following items from the second third of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story were not on the TV version of this episode:

  • The scene where Quagmire, still chained to the hotel bed after Stewie takes the keys to his "Wanna-Bang-O", turns on a porno movie so he can dial for 911 with his penis.
  • The old style intermission.
  • Brian and Stewie arriving in San Francisco, along with Stewie's Thundercats cut-away.
  • The episode ends with an announcer asking viewers rhetorical questions about the episode's events. The last line is, "Will younger viewers get this Soap reference?" It is, in fact, a parody of the 70's soap opera comedy Soap, including the family fighting on the couch.

[edit] Notes

  • The episode is named for the song And Bingo Was His Name-o.
  • Peter parodies Spider-Man and Batman in this episode.
