Bana Shankari

Bana Shankari is the locally designate name of the Goddess Durgâ, whom one venerates in a temple a few kilometres from Badami in Karnataka. The temple is located inside an enclosure which opens on a small market of fruits and vegetables. In the temple resides remarkable and impressive statue of the goddess on her lion. The temple is the Kuldevta or family deity for a number of peole in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
