Bama bangs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bama Bangs is a male hairstyle with long bangs that completely covers the forehead and sometimes the eyes. The bangs are usually swept to one side rather than hanging straight down. The hairstyle is popular among young white males in the southeastern United States and is also known as Hoover Hair and the Southern Swoop. Though named for the state of Alabama, they are commonly found on college and high school campuses throughout Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee. The hairstyle is particularly popular among fans and students of universities that belong to the Southeastern Conference, especially members of fraternities. The style is prominently featured in the MTV reality series 'Two-A-Days' which chronicles the 2005 football season of Hoover High School in suburban Birmingham, Alabama. Bama Bangs are often confused with, but are distinct from the tellum or reverse mullet. Some areas call the hairdo "The Syn".
