Coordinates: 54.0833° N 8.5167° WBallymote (Baile an Mhóta in Irish) is a town in County Sligo, Ireland. It lies on regional roads R293, R295 and R296, and on the main Dublin to Sligo railway line.

There is a castle in the town and an attractive golf course on its edge.

The Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg unveiled Ireland's national monument to the The 69th Infantry Regiment (aka The Fighting 69th) and Michael Corcoran in Ballymote on 22 August 2006.
