Balloch

Balloch is the name of a number of communities in Scotland, from the Scottish Gaelic bealach (pronounced /'bja:-ləx/) meaning a "pass":
- Balloch, West Dunbartonshire - the largest and best known of these communities, a small town in the Vale of Leven district, north of Dumbarton; pronounced /'bæ:-ləx/
- Balloch, Highland - in the parish of Culloden, near Inverness; pronounced /bə-'lox/
- Balloch, Cumbernauld - a residential area of the New town of Cumbernauld; pronounced /'bæ:-ləx/
