The Ballerina Handicap is a race for thoroughbred horses. The Grade I race is contested each year at Saratoga Race Course and is open to fillies and mares, ages three and up. It is raced at a distance of seven furlongs on the dirt for a purse of $250,000. The race is a major step along the way for older distaffers preparing for the Breeders' Cup Distaff. In 1980, the race was won by Filly Triple Crown Champion Davona Dale
