From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Balangao is the term referred to a barangay in Natonin Mt. province, Philippines and the tribe that inhabit it. It is believed that the people of the Balangao tribe has its origin from the two nearby provinces of Kalinga and Ifugao[citation needed]. The language used by this tribe is called "iferangao" which is basicaaly spoken only by them and some nearby tribes who have their own languages that are related to the "iferangao" dialect.
The predominant source of living of the tribe is farming which are either done in their rice terraces or from lands that were cleaned up through fire. At the present, many of the younger generation of the tribe have gained education and are exposed to modernization thus changing the once traditional society of the tribe.
