Balandin is a small crater that is located on the far side of the Moon. It lies within the large Gagarin walled-plain, close to the eastern rim.
The Balandin crater is circular with a small interior floor. It is adjacent to slightly smaller craters to the east and west. This formation is otherwise undistinguished, and appears much like a multitude of other small craters scattered across the lunar surface.
