About 200,000 years ago, modern man developed. 35,000 years ago, Homo Sapiens fully replace Neanderthals in Europe. 2,000 years ago, the Pax Romana was in full swing. 100 years ago, people were all like, 'Dude! Powered flight! Awesome!' 25 years ago, I was born in Buffalo, New York, being the Queen City of the Lake. I grew up (sort of), got a B.A. in History, somehow wound up in DC, and found myself typing this little mini-autobiography and futzing around with it while trying to get the little templates to work. :^)

Alrighty, I went to St. Joseph's Colleigate Institute in Buffalo for High Schoolage. Some notable things about that time period include my formation of the school’s Monty Python Club, the birth of my interest in History and Political Science, my learning to dislike Unions, the beginning of about an eight year stint volunteering at the Buffalo Museum of Science, got a 3 on the AP European History exam without taking the course, and my mild addiction to Steamers (Steamed Milk). Other than that, I was really dull in High School.

College…was like High School for me. I went to Canisius College, a small Jesuit school also in Buffalo. I was a little more active, I was Secretary, Treasurer, VP and President of the school’s History Club, and I had fringe attachment to all sorts of other clubs. I didn’t hang around much there. I learned to get more involved in current events and politics, which helped when a bunch of dumbasses decided one day to crash planes into several buildings one Fall morning in 2001 and my classmates majoring in other subjects had know idea why.

After graduating with a B.A. in History in 2002, I had intended to get my NY Teaching Certificate and become a History/Government teacher. I decided to attend a small local public college for this. Coincidently, around this time, the Coalition ousted Saddam Hussein. I supported them and made my opinions known in classes. This led to my ostracism from many of my classmates, who were of such a mind that even if President Bush were to cure every disease and eliminate poverty, he would still be evil. Later that year, I opposed members of the faculty who would only say nasty things about the administration, and never mention anything positive towards the Right or negative to the Left. After that semester, the faculty decided teaching wasn’t for me.

I don’t belong to any Party, but I consider myself a Conservative. I’ve been accused of belonging to the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, and being a ‘Yankee Imperialist Running Dog Capitalist,’ which both amuse me. I believe it’s everyone’s civic duty to vote, and you should vote for who best represents you, not just a particular Party, or voting for a Republican or Democrat because you don’t believe Third Parties can win.

I believe Upstate New York should break away from New York City/Albany, an Independent Taiwan, a Free Tibet, and a peaceful co-existence between Arabs and Israelis. In my opinion, the UN is a useless body that is only good for condoning the bad things people do. I'd also like to see Alsace-Lorraine Break away from France.

I’m against groups like PETA, the Earth Liberation Front, Greenpeace, and similar groups who are violent and malicious in their protesting. If you have something to say, there are better ways of doing it than by assaulting people or burning down their homes.

I’m for Freedom of Speech, and I abhor people or groups who won’t let other people they speak their minds (assuming they have something intelligent and well-thought out to say. Not just ‘So-and-so is a moron'). I am also not politically correct. It comes from years of being attacked based on my ethnicities, religion, and politics.

I support Dubya, and for what it's worth, I'm quite fond of Blair, Harper, Howard, and Merkel.

I'm not a big fan of Unions. My hometown has been saddled with them for too long, and now the (Unions) are a big reason that Buffalo is in decline (incompetent leadership, and a citizenry that keeps voting for them along Party Lines is another main reason).

I try not to force my politics on people, and I hope they don't on me. :^)

[edit] Quotes

'The things love can drive a man to -- the ecstasies, the miseries, the broken rules, the desperate chances, the glorious failures and the glorious victories.' -Dr. Leonard McCoy

'If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you oughtta go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid.' -Q

'I did have a test today. That wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European, so who gives a crap if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists - that still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, 'I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.' Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus and I'd still have to bum rides off of people.' -Ferris Bueller

'Son, don't miss the wonders that surround you because every tree, every rock, every anthill, every star is filled with the wonders of nature. Have you ever noticed how grateful you are to see daylight again after coming through a long dark tunnel? Well, always try to see life around ya as if you'd just come out of a tunnel.' -Jefferson Smith

'You don't know the power of the Dark Side.' -Darth Vader
