Baksan

Baksan (Russian: Бакса́н) is a town in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Russia, located 24 km north-west of Nalchik on the left bank of the Baksan River (Terek's basin) at 43°41′17″N, 43°32′13″E. Population: 35,805 (2002 Census). Urban-type settlement status since 1964; town status since 1967.
