The Bakersfield Jam are an expansion franchise of the National Basketball Association Development League that will begin play in 2006-07. They will play their home games at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California, United States.

The Bakersfield Jam were the first expansion team in 2006 for the NBA Development League. The new team was announced on February 15, 2006, by Howard Perez and NBA commissioner David Stern. It is owned and operated by Bakersfield Professional Sports, LLC, which includes businessmen Ben and Angelica Perez of Bakersfield, as well as Tet Yamashita and Steve Chase of Los Angeles. The Long Beach Jam moved to Bakersfield in February 15, 2006. The Bakersfield Jam (Long Beach Jam) won their 1st American Basketball Association championship in 2004. Along with the Arkansas Rimrockers, the Bakersfield/Long Beach Jam is the second ABA team to move to the NBDL.

Former members include Dennis Rodman, Derrick Dial, Juaquin Hawkins, and Yuta Tabuse, all former NBA players, and DerMarr Johnson, who is currently with the Denver Nuggets.

Gerry McNamara, former Syracuse University standout, joined the team on December 12, 2006.
