Baillif

Baillif is a village located in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Situated in the south of proper Guadeloupe it covers an area of 2.430 acres (10 km²). At the last census its population was calculated at 6,315 inhabitants.
The name of the commune would come from the name of one of its early inhabitants called Robert Baillif. He used to trade there from 1650 to around 1700.
