Bagley class destroyer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bagley class of destroyers was built by the United States. All eight ships were ordered and laid down in 1935 and subsequently completed in 1937. They were based upon the Gridley-class destroyer design, which was based upon the Mahan-class destroyer.

All eight Bagley destroyers were present at the Attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. They all served in the Pacific during World War II, with 3 lost during combat, 2 sunk after the atomic testing of Operation Crossroads, and the remaining 3 were scrapped shortly after the war ended.
