Bageshwar is a city and a municipal board in Bageshwar district in the state of Uttaranchal, India. It is also the administrative headquarters of Bageshwar district.

There are many places of touristic and historic importance in Bageshwar. This town is situated on the confluence of rivers Saryu and Gomti. There are many old temples dating back to 10th century AD. Among them are the Baijnath temple which is believed to have been built by the Pandavas.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Bageshwar had a population of 7803. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Bageshwar has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
