Bad Kösen

Bad Kösen (pop. 5746) (2001) is a spa town in Germany, on the Saale river in the small German wine-growing region of Saale-Unstrut. It belongs to the Burgenlandkreis district of Saxony-Anhalt.

Bad Kösen, and the nearby Rudelsburg castle with its memorials to the German Student Corps, is the location of the annual convention of the Kösener Senioren-Convents-Verband. In sight of the Rudelsburg is the ruin of the nearby Saaleck castle.

Bad Kösen is also the seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Bad Kösen, which consists of the following municipalities (population in 2005 between brackets):
