Bad Deutsch Altenburg

Bad Deutsch Altenburg is an Austrian town on the Danube river. It is located in the Burgenland region, close to the Slovakian border. Bad Deutsch Altenburg has approximately 1300 inhabitants. It is called Deutsch Altenburg ("German Old Castle") to differenciate it from the Hungarian town of Magyarorvár ("Hungarian Old Castle"). From 1917 until Mid Eighties, there was a large transmission station for long- and shortwave in Bad Deutsch Altenburg.
