Backhaul

Backhaul may refer to:

  • Backhaul, in telecommunications, concerned with transporting traffic between distributed sites (typically access points) and more centralised points of presence
  • Backhaul, in the broadcast TV industry, the point-to-point transmission, usually by satellite, of a feed from a remote location to the studio
  • In the freight industry, freight carried by a trucker to return to his home with a loaded truck, rather than an empty one (as opposed to headhaul, the outgoing freight)
