back palm is a magic trick, in which the card is retained length-wise at the back of the hand by pressure between the edges of the first and little fingers. It is possible to hold a card between the thumb and first finger, then transfer it rapidly to the back of the hand into the back palm position, thus seeming to make it disappear.
