From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Babbling Bishops is a performing arts association affiliated with Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. The performing art form is like that of theatre except that it is done completely without scripting.
[edit] History
The Babbling Bishops started as a concept of Maria Dotori in the fall of 1990 at Ohio Wesleyan University. A group of theatre concentration students formed a performance-oriented project to receive their theatre degrees. The project transformed into an improv comedy troupe and began rehearsing.
All of the rehearsals are housed in Stuuvesant Hall. In 1996 the Babbling Bishops started performing outside of campus for with other college improv troupes. The original performance was with troupes from Kenyon College and Denison University, both institutins from the Ohio Five.
The Wesleyan Babbling Bishops have produced many works on other campuses and places outside of the college since their formation in 1991.
