Why does German refer to this scale's name as if it were simply "B major" rather than "B-flat major"?? Georgia guy 17:26, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I'm just speculating here, but maybe it's because there is more old German music in F major than in C major. Thus, there was more of a need to refer to B-flat than to B, so B-flat got first dibs on the letter.
- Whatever the reason, this has been thoroughly encrusted in tradition. Del arte 19:02, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
