The Báthory (Polish Batory) were a Hungarian noble family of the Gutkeled clan. The name Báthory and the family coat-of-arms were granted in 1325. The Báthory family rose to significant influence in Central Europe during the late middle ages.

- Stephen Báthory - the judge of the royal court (iudex curiae regiae) and voivod of Transylvania. He is known for his victory in the Battle of Kenyérmező where he fought together with Pál Kinizsi. He also fought alongside Vlad Ţepeş against the forces of Mehmed II in the aftermath of the Battle of Vaslui.

- Sophia Báthory, d.1680, a niece of Gabriel Báthory, married to George II Rákóczi and hence united the two families, Báthory and Rákóczi. Promoted Roman Catholicism within her domain.
