[edit] Sarnia, Ontario
Just for future reference, the -17 in "CBLFT-17" does not mean that the transmitter broadcasts on channel 17. Canadian television rebroadcast transmitters aren't necessarily numbered that way. What it means in this case is that the transmitter in Sarnia was the 17th one added chronologically. (There are some that are numbered with the actual channel number, but it's at the choice of the broadcaster — so you should always assume that the two aren't related unless proven otherwise.) So I'd ask you to please not change the channel number for CBLFT-17 again unless you can confirm that it's actually been moved to channel 17 even though all the media directories still list it on 68. Thanks. Bearcat 00:56, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary
Thank you for your contributions. And I have a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries more often when you contribute. An edit summary helps others understand what you changed when checking the watchlist or the recent changes, and often times complements studying the diff. Think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. I hope you don't mind. :) Cheers – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 04:05, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sarnia
Could I please ask you again, what's your source for claiming that CBLFT's transmitter in Sarnia has moved to channel 17? The CRTC has no decision on file permitting a channel change. No media directory notes a change. SRC's own website still lists it on Channel 68. Would you please either show me a source or leave the channel as 68? Bearcat 06:26, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

==Please Use Edit Summaries==
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. AmiDaniel (talk) 05:22, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WSPX-TV
I'm sorry to inform you that WSPX-TV does have the suffix for its main license on channel 56, as shown here. The record with no suffix is a petition for rulemaking, which has been known to include non-existent suffixes or exclude existing ones. Sorry I had to do this, most of your other edits to Pax/i affiliate articles seem to be fine. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 22:26, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] {{CBC Ontario}}
Could you please pay some attention to the way categories are structured? The Ontario TV stations are subcategorized by their region of the province (Toronto, Ottawa, Western Ontario, Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario), so we do not want the stations dually categorized in the parent Category:Television stations in Ontario in addition to their market category. If you create any further Network-in-Ontario templates, please ensure that the "Television stations in Ontario" category is listed within noinclude tags. Bearcat 00:16, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WCTV
I have to question whether to include WCTV in the CBS Georgia template. Even though WCTV is licensed to Thomasville, for all intents and purposes it's a Tallahassee station. From what I remember in reading previous versions of their Web site, WCTV has NEVER had its main studio on the Georgia side of the market, so it has always considered itself a Tallahassee station.
In my book, WCTV is in the same category as a few other stations licensed in one state, but pretty much identify with another:
- WWOR-TV: Licensed in Secaucus, New Jersey since '83 and even has a studio there, but has always considered itself a New York station
- WPWR-TV: Licensed in Gary, Indiana, but considers itself a Chicago station
- WMYT-TV: Licensed in Rock Hill, but considers itself a Charlotte station (my hometown, so I know)
- WGTW-TV: Licensed in Burlington, New Jersey but considers itself a Philadelphia station
- KPDX-TV: Licensed in Vancouver, Washington but considers itself a Portland station
- XETV-TV: Licensed in Tijuana but considers itself a San Diego station
- WXIX-TV: Licensed in Newport, Kentucky, but considers itself a Cincinnati station
On that basis, I would argue that WCTV is a 100% Tallahassee station. Blueboy96 15:52, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] KJNP-TV
I was expecting some edits, but an advertisement tag? I thought someone might dispute the article's facutal accuracy, rather than its POV... the "Godless commies" comment should be a dead giveaway... AlexDW 15:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's not necessarily the "Godless commies", but rather the "high definition Jesus". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Azumanga1 (talk • contribs) 20:26, June 17, 2006 (EDT).

[edit] Your Editting of Crayon Shin-chan Article
In the article Crayon Shin-chan, you've changed a line that says "Starting April 2006, Crayon Shin-chan celebrates its 15th anniversary" to "Crayon Shin-chan celebrated its 15th anniversary in April 2006." That is not true, however. At the beginning of each current Crayon Shin-chan shows, Shin-chan says, translated literally, "Crayon Shin-chan, Television 15th Year!" As of June 2006, it says, "Even this summer, Crayon Shin-chan, Television 15th Year!" meaning it still has not finished celebrating its 15th anniversary.

[edit] Your Editing of KASY-TV
I see you update the information KASY-TV often. But all of your information is wrong. We have no association with KUPT or those others that are up there. We do not transmit a signal to Lubbock Texas. If there is a station in Lubbock that is taking our signal, it is not legally being done so, and they don't have the permission of our station or the company that owns us. We do help boost our signal to reach other parts of New Mexico, but it's all done under our KASY call letters. We were recently added on Comcast cable in smaller parts of New Mexico. But that's it. Where are you getting this information about the Texas station?
Now you are adding more incorrect information regarding some station called KTEL.
I'll have to start reporting you for posting wrong information.

[edit] KYUM-LP channel 2 in Yuma AZ
You changed the affiliation of KYUM-LP to 3ABN and from the Arizona Spanish Stations template to the Other Arizona Stations template. Has KYUM-LP changed affiliations since May 27?
[edit] KAET
I added the reference to UK's Channel 5 because of the way it is pronounced. At C5 (five), the continuity announcers always say "now on five, (program name here)". At KAET, they always say "(program name), tonight at 6, only on eight". That is why I added the reference to UK's Channel 5. Do not remove it again please. --Arbiteroftruth 05:29, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Kwyblp.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Kwyblp.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 12:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] {{context}}
The context tag is to be placed on articles which don't even give a proper explanation of what the article subject is (for example, if WFPA-CA didn't even say that WFPA was a television station in Philadelphia.) It is not to be used as a substitute for a stub template on articles that are expandable but do provide a valid basic summary. Bearcat 22:11, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Protection
Please note that adding a {{sprotected}} or {{protected}} tag to an article (as you did to WHDH-TV) doesn't actually protect it - it just puts the box on top of the article. If you actually want to get an article protected, ask an admin at Wikipedia:Requests for protection. Zetawoof(ζ) 05:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CBS Paramount Television
I think our friend 24.7.77.145 came back under the new IP 24.229.92.186 to continue his antics of saying the same logo was different in some way and posting one image again and again. I reverted him, but I don't know if his 3RR block and disruption blocks helped at all. Keep your eyes out for him, again. Nate 21:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Link to Kansas City
When you want to link to the article about Kansas City, please do not link to Kansas City, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as Kansas City, Kansas article, by writing out [[Kansas City, Kansas|Kansas City]]. Regards, -- Jeff3000 20:56, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] KTFL Flagstaff
You changed the article, stating that their license was canceled as of 9/7. Do you have a reference for that? I cannot find where their license was canceled. CDBS has "Permit Canceled" as the current status of their analog license, but AFAIK, they still have the digital construction permit active, meaning that the station is not defunct. I've been trying to get an answer on this for over 2 months now, but I have a feeling that they're going digital-only instead, as KWDK in Seattle did. --dhett 05:05, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm assuming that this unsigned note left on my talk page is yours. Here it is, with my response. --dhett 05:54, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Recently, you changed back the info for KTFL to prior the change, since it could not be verified.
-
- If so, what's this?
-
- It says, "License Cancelled"; if the FCC says so, then it must be true, unless there is evidence saying otherwise.
- Know what? You're right. I misread the status date as 6/27/2006 instead of 6/27/2002. The FCC's publication of this list on 7/21/2006, effective 7/13/2006, led me to believe that the CP for KTFL-DT was still active, even though their latest STA expired on 7/1/2006. Apparently, it is not, as they have changed the station status from LICENSED to LICENSE CANCELLED. I have restored your edits, with a note explaining why.
- It says, "License Cancelled"; if the FCC says so, then it must be true, unless there is evidence saying otherwise.
[edit] K08MM
Why do you persist in putting useless information into articles? The fact that K08MM is Class A has been documented already in three places in the article. There is no rule stating that a Class A station must have all-alpha calls. There is no such thing as "translator-style calls" - X99XX are low-power calls. Period. Class A stations are low-power stations. I'm not concerned about your "consistency" - 1) I find no other articles with that line, and 2) if I did, I'd remove them, as it's a foolish consistency. Leave the articles alone - they're fine without your superfluous edits. --dhett 14:53, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PSIPs
Regarding our minor conflict on several of the CW templates, I have thought that Wikipedia convention for digital subchannels was to use the PSIP number as opposed to the actual given that FCC regulations require stations to use the PSIP number. Yes, PSIP doesn't apply to early adoptors with older sets, but considering the fact that that percentage of those viewers are declining daily I'd consider it a moot point to list actual considering the FCC circumstances in place. To save an edit war, would it be possible to go to a third party for a definitive answer? Scrabbleship 10:28, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Singleton Applicant
The commonly accepted definition of the word "singleton" is "alone". In each article I used that term, in the sentence following the phrase "singleton applicant", I explained that as a singleton applicant, the station would likely be granted a construction permit, "as there are no nearby applicants competing for the same or adjacent channels". Moreover, the link cited clearly states, "The following stations have filed applications without competitors in the area (singleton applications)." Although I believe that these explain what a singleton applicant is, nevertheless, I have clarified the definition in each article, KVOA, KESE-LP and K28FM. --dhett 19:38, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] KPHE
Is your change to Multimedios based on my post in Radio-Info? I was about to make the change myself that night, then noticed that they still had a lot of TV Inspiracion material. Since then, I'd been looking for more Multimedios programming before changing the Wikipedia article, but so far, all I've seen has been TV Inspiracion, including right now. I'm kinda puzzled about the whole thing - have you seen any other Multimedios programming from them? dhett 04:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- The only Multimedios programming I've seen is on my local affiliate, WTAM-LP ch.30 in Tampa -- and that's only through fleeting glances at thriftshops (I'm a cable person). If they still are primarily a TV Inspiracion affil, maybe they have dual affiliations, or they got cold feet. -- azumanga 05:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- They're still running a lot of TV Inspiracion material, but I'm seeing more Multimedios material now, enough to where I'm now comfortable in calling them a Multimedios affiliate. However, I wouldn't assume that KPHE is running the same programming as KTAM-LP, even though they've been owned by the same companies for several years now. (Both stations, along with KHLM-LP in Houston, participated in the Digital Data Services Act pilot project in 2000-2002. Lotus bought all three stations in a package deal.) dhett 19:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
