[edit] La Academia participation

Anahí's participation in La Academia was short-lived despite her great abilities and talent. She sang in the first concert along with José Luis the song "Me Gusta Estar Contigo". At the end of this concert she received the news that she was in the bottom 4 places in number of votes. Clearly, she reacted by making an effort in that week, and she sang "Angel" (a song popularized by Mexican singer Belinda), but this interpretation was not well received by the critics in La Academia. Eventually that same night, Anahí became the first eliminated student from La Academia Fourth Generation.

But Anahí would eventually receive a second chance when, in the twelfth concert (May 15, 2005) three eliminated contestants were to return to La Academia. However, mainly for being the first eliminated contestant, Anahí failed to build a large fan crowd and, despite her great performance of the song "Mentiras" and the overally positive comments received from the critics (one of them, Ilse, expressed that Anahí's voice would be a strong candidate to compete with Yuridia's, then the obvious favorite to win) Anahí did not return to La Academia.
