Awwam ibn Khuwaylid from the Banu Asad.

His brother was Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, and his father was Khuwaylid ibn Asad.

He was married to Saffiyah bint ‘Abd al-Muttalib and became the father of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam.
