Knight of Malta? That suggests heavy Roman Catholicism, unless it comes from one of the other self-styled orders. The website http://www.srpska-mreza.com/library/facts/Baron-Manhattan.html says he was also a Knight of the House of Savoy as well as a Knight Templar and a Knight of the Order of Mercedes.
