Avon Grove High School is a public high school located in Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.

[edit] School

Avon Grove High School is a rather large high school, with about 1,800 students attending grades 9-12. It is neighbored by Fred S. Engle Middle School, which houses grades 7 and 8. The school mascot is the Red Devil, and the school colors are maroon and gold.

Avon Grove High School has a high Mexican American student population, because of the local mushroom industry[citation needed]. About 10% of the students at Avon Grove High are from Mexican descent.

Avon Grove also has an amazing Marching Band. Scoring 1st place in numerous parades including Ephrata and New Holland. This band has been under the direction of Mr. Weaver for 25 plus years.

Avon Grove teams have one state title, the 1979 PIAA Division II Men's Basketball team, led by Garry and Barry White. A varsity football program was recently created and is now participating in the chestmont league. There is a new $7 million athletic complex, which includes a lit 1,500 seat stadium, all-purpose field turf field, all-weather track, two full-size field turf practice fields, tennis courts, and baseball field. The Schhol also has a great amount of clubs (17) that about half the school is active on, including The yellow ribbon club, and the Leo Club [citation needed].

The Avon Grove Little League Complex is where the junior class and some of the senior class park their vehicles during the school day. They have to pay the owners 35 dollars in order to park and it is about a 3 minute walk from the high school.
