The Avidyne Entegra series of primary flight displays and multi-function displays are an all-digital replacement for conventional flight instruments. Marketed at and included in primarily light general aviation aircraft, Avidyne is making inroads into the corporate market with OEM positions on the Eclipse 500 and Adam A700 light jets. With its long list of general aviation OEM positions including Cirrus Design, Columbia, New Piper, and Symphony, Avidyne is now the world's leading supplier of integrated flight decks for general aviation. Entegra is also now flying on development aircraft at Spectrum and ATG Javelin.

The primary competitor for the Entegra model of integrated cockpit displays is the Garmin G1000. Unlike the Garmin product, the Entegra units utilize external avionics to feed the communication and navigational instruments. The benefit is that a midair failure of the FlightMax Entegra is not complete, allowing communication, basic navigation and no loss of moving map capability. In addition, the Entegra system is designed to be extremely easy to use.

The primary safety concern with glass cockpits is due to their integrated nature; if one component fails, it can affect the rest far more than a conventional system using individual instruments. To make up for this, the Entegra system may be rebooted in midair as long as the aircraft remains straight and level for three minutes to realign itself and reset the displays.
