The Avenue Theater, located at 417 E 17th Avenue in Downtown Denver, Colorado has been a local favorite, producing fine Comedies, Musicals & Plays as well as Improvisational comedy for over 20 years.
It is home to the World Humor Organization (WHO) and Chicken Lips Entertainment

[edit] Early years
Robert Wells originally founded the Avenue Theater in 1967. Its location was 6 blocks west of where it is now (Currently known as the Playwright Theatre)

In May, 2005 John Ashton sold the Avenue Theater to Robert Wells and Dave Johnson, the current owners.
Dave and Bob, with a small team compromising of Tim Clare as Technical Director, and Chris Boeckx as Marketing Manager, run the theater throughout the year,
