In Egyptian mythology, Avengers are the servants of the god Horus, possess the head of a hawk, often carried two large golden sabres. Avengers were said to be capable of leaping into battle or summoning a sandstorm to cover their movements to another location rapidly.

It is briefly mentioned in the Book of the Dead.

In the computer game "Age of Mythology", the Avengers are the myth units you can summon if you worship Horus. They have the ability of attacking multiple units at once.
