Auxigro is a chemical-based growth-enhancer that is currently approved by the EPA for spray on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Its use is controversial because it contains glutamic acid, which may cause undesirable illnesses in people sensitive to it. (See monosodium glutamate for information about sensitivity to glutamic acid.)
