Autotrax PCB design software was originally developed by Protel (now Altium) in the 1980's and 1990's. It is a simple down to earth PCB CAD package that is now a free download from Altium's web site. This is not to be confused with Kovac Software's "AutotraxEDA" package.

AutotraxEDA is an electronic design automation software made by Kovac Software with a download base of over 60 000 people [1], and is used in many educational institutions due to it's low cost. Autotrax supports schematic and PCB design as well as SPICE simulation. The well-known Protel Autotrax and Kovac's AutotraxEDA are in no way compatible or related.
