AWL, Australian Wrestling League is located in Brisbane, Australia. The wrestlers this unique league has many from Heavyweights and Lightweights wrestlers. Some of the most known wrestlers are Jason, Josh, Brady, Curtis, Tim and many more that has a big deal in this wrestling league.
AWL was created by Jason one day in around 2002, he started taping the wrestling with some mates in around 2004 and this company became bigger and later many beginner wrestler's wanted to be part of this wrestling league and Jason the chairman started this show on the net, Dvd's and even live events.
AWL plays a big part in Backyard wrestling in Australia, It is one of a kind with wrestlers from 10-15 year olds with all one dream to become a pro wrestler, but starting off here to earn the big titles like the AWL Title, AWL U.S.A Rep, AWL Tag Team Titles.
The AWL Title was the big title to reach for, all wrestlers have had a reign for atleast a show but the real champions are the people who put there title on every show to prove they are the best, some of these real champs are Josh, Brady, Jason and Tim. Jason Vs Josh is one of the most built up match week after week they have been in a match with each other for several months in 2005, fighting for the title doing whatever they can to regain the title and prove who is the better wrestler. This stopped when Brady came to become Josh's bodyguard and destroy Jason to regain the title for once and for all. Josh made Brady do all his dirty work making Jason bleed and pay, Until Josh took it too far and made Brady snap, Brady had enough and quit as his bodyguard and won the title of him, Brady and Josh got together several other times to win matches and even Titles.
AWL U.S.A Rep is one of the newest and recent titles in AWL, It was introduced just under 6 months ago and held by Jason and the first champion a girl called Emma. The most embarrassing match in Jason's career as she had help from Josh and Tim. Emma is still currently the champion.
The AWL Tag Team Title is a hard to get title, only the people who get along win and keep the titles such as the best tag team Curtis and Jason, yes they have had there differrences but they have great teamwork and mostly come out the victor's.
The lightweight title was a very unique title held by Tim, Curtis and one of the most special/unique Lightweight wrestler was known as The Silver Shining, He was one of the legends of AWL Lightweight Champions. The AWL lightweight champions of all champions was decided in a triple threat, The Silver Shining Vs Curtis Vs Tim, Tim had the upperhand until curtis came out of no where with kicks, elbows and dropkicks, until Silver Shining dropkicks them and he snapped them in half with his deadly kicks, he one the match with the silver lining on Tim.
AWL today is still going well with even more wrestlers and great matches such as Tables matches, Box matches, Singles, Tag's, Hardcore, Weapon of choice, Handicap matches, Cage matches, Hell in a cell and many other matches. There are two DVD sets with all seasons on it 2 Dvds each set selling for $10 in Australia and NZ.
