Australian Relief & Mercy Services Ltd (ARMS) is a Christian aid and development organization that cares for the poor and needy both within Australia and overseas.


Founded in Canberra in 1988 ARMS uses volunteers to work in poor communities so as to empower them to better care for themselves. ARMS is a registered Australian charity and has offices in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Darwin, Perth and Adelaide. Our National Office is located in Melbourne.


ARMS is working in nations such as East Timor, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, India, Zambia and Uganda. ARMS provides medical support to communities as well as disaster relief teams that serve in natural disasters and war zones. We support preschools and orphanges in poor communities, run Primary health care programs, do building, water and agricultural projects.


ARMS is a member of the Australian Council For International Development (ACFID) and is also a member of Co-Aid a consortium of smaller Australian aid and development organizations. More information can be found on the ARMS web site www.arms.org.au


All of ARMS full-time staff are volunteers. These volunteers are self supporting and are involved in a variety of vocations including medical and disaster relief, Primary health care, building and construction, administration, refugee ministry, water and sanitation, education, AIDS, micro enterprise development and landmine accident survivors.

  • RescueNet

RescueNet is the specialist disaster ministry that has been developed by ARMS to reach out to victims of natural and man made disasters.

  • Kids Ark

Kid's Ark is a project located in Hera East Timor. Kid's Ark provides preschool programs and a community clinic for needy families in the Hera region.

  • Reverse The Curse

Reverse the Curse of Landmines in Cambodia is a project located in Cambodia. Reverse the Curse runs a fruit factory in Phnom Penh which employs landmine accident survivors and trains them in management production and helps them to develop other skills.

  • Projects Amongst Karen Refugess and Internally Displaced People

ARMS has been working amongst Karen refugees and IDPs for more thank 12 years. We help to fund preschool programs in refugee camps on the Thai / Burmese border and also provide medical training for health workers servicing communities of Internally Displaced People inside Burma. We also provide emergency aid for IDPs who are on the run and trying to survive in the forests of Burma as they run from the Burmese military who enforce the policies of ethnic cleansing espoused by the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC)
