Australian Playboy ran from February, 1979 until January, 2000 for a total of 276 editions. It featured many world celebrities as well as many exclusive Australian celebrities. This included:
- Emma Harrison: Neighbours star
- Melissa George: Home and Away star
- Dannii Minogue: Neighbours star, Singer
- Fiona Horne: Witch, star of celebity survivor
- Kym Wilson: Actor
- Gabrielle Richens: aka as the pleasure machine, model, actress, tv presentor
- Jodie Young: TV presenter
- Tracy Lee: TV Model
- Bindy Paxton: TV star
- Wendy Botha: Surfer
The first edition had Rosemary Paul on the cover and featured her in pictorial. The magazine would rely heavily on the US edition for content and pictorials and featured many shots of overseas celebrities including Pamela Anderson, Erika Elaniak and Gena Lee Nolin. One noticeable omission was when Elle MacPherson posed nude for the US magazine, her pictorial was not featured in Australian Playboy.
