Australian Eunicid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian eunicid is a worm. This family is closely related to the beachworm, and like them, many eunicids reach a considerable size. One of the most conspicious of the eunicids is the giant, dark purple, iridescent "Bobbit worm", found at low tide under boulders on southern Australian shores. Its robust, muscular body can be as long as 2 metres.
