Each state has major artist-run galleries, a few key ones include First Draft ARI, Loose Projects and MOP Projects (Sydney), The Farm ARI (now closed) in Brisbane, KINGS ARI, Clubs Project inc, West Space, and many others in Melbourne, Downtown Art Space in Adelaide, and Breadbox ARI in Perth. Other important non-gallery artist initiatives include NUCA (Network of UnCollectable Artists), the "Artist Funded" project, and the Sydney Ladies Artists Club.
