Australian Air Express (AAE) is a cargo airline based in Melbourne, Australia. It operates freight-only services within Australia.

[edit] Establishment
Australian Air Express was established in early 1992 with plans to start operations later in that year. It started operations on 1 August 1992. It was established as a joint venture between Australia's largest airline, Qantas and government-owned postal provider Australia Post, both of whom hold a 50% share in the airline. AAE use freight capacity on Qantas domestic flights and also dedicated cargo services operated on their behalf by National Jet Systems.

Australian Air Express currently operates freight services to the following domestic scheduled destinations (at January 2005): Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Gove, Groote Eylandt, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Perth, Rockhampton, Sydney and Townsville.
