Austin Lightning are an American soccer team, founded in 2002. The team is a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, and play in the Mid-South Division of the Southern Conference against teams from Dallas, El Paso, Laredo and New Orleans.

The Lightning play their home games at the stadium in Williamson County Regional Park in the city of Leander, Texas, 26 miles north of downtown Austin. The team's colors are white and blue.

According to the team website, the Lightning will be under new management for the 2007 season, and there is some possibility that the team, in collaboration with the Austin Independent School District, will be trying to find a new home in the City of Austin proper. The Tony Burger Center in south Austin and House Park on North Lamar Boulevard (where the former Austin Lonestars hosted games for a number of years in the late 1990's) are both deemed likely candidate sites for a potential return to the city.
